Revised Water Restriction in Place in City of Fort Pierre

Effective noon today, July 1, 2021, the City of Fort Pierre is revising our water restriction, asking our water system users to continue to help conserve water by following the guidelines below.

Our water supply in our tank has been replenished, however heavy use will put us in a vulnerable position and we want to ensure adequate supply for safe drinking and fire protection.

Regarding lawn & garden watering, we are implementing a schedule for residents to follow and ask that the hottest part of the day be avoided:

·         Odd Calendar Days – Odd House Numbers

·         Even Calendar Days – Even House Numbers

Residents can use water for routine activities, but please refrain from activities such as vehicle/boat washing, watering outside of your schedule time, or other activities with excessive use.

Effective noon on Monday, July 5, 2021, full restrictions will be back in place to replenish the water supply in our tank in preparation for the Mni Wiconi core pipeline to be shut off for permanent repairs.  We are asking our customers to limit water usage during this time and we will put out another notification when the restriction is lifted.  NO LAWN/GARDEN WATERING until the restriction is lifted.

Please keep water conservation in mind and use water wisely. If you have any questions please call the City Office at 223-7690.  We appreciate your assistance and understanding!

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July!
