The Log Cabin Visitor Center is located at the corner of Main Street and Hwy 83 at the stoplight.

Hours for the Visitor Center are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Log Cabin is owned and maintained by the Verendrye Museum and has served as a Visitor Center for the City of Fort Pierre since 2000. Visitors will find a selection of brochures and information for Fort Pierre and the surrounding area as well as several displays and showcases depicting items from the pioneer history of the area. The historic Sansarc School and Old Jailhouse are next to the Visitor Center and can be toured during the hours the Visitor Center is open. The office of Fort Pierre Development Corporation is located in the Log Cabin.
